Tools You'll Need
- Trim removal tool
- Automotive-grade double-sided tape
- Isopropyl alcohol or panel wipe, for degreasing
- Masking tape, to hold panels in place while the adhesive cures
- Drill and matching self-tapping fixings, if your kit isn't a tape-only fit
Step-by-Step Fitting Guide
- Wash and degrease the sills thoroughly — this is the step most commonly rushed, and it's the main cause of skirts lifting later.
- Dry-fit each skirt against the sill to check the profile matches before applying any adhesive.
- Mask off a line above where the top edge of the skirt will sit, so you have a clear guide for consistent placement on both sides.
- Apply tape to the back of the skirt in a continuous line along the top mating edge.
- Fit from one end to the other, pressing firmly along the full length rather than pushing from the middle outward, to avoid trapping air bubbles.
- Add any supplied clips or fixings at the wheel arch ends, which take the most stress from stone chips and washing.
- Leave to cure for 24 hours before driving or washing the car.
