The A-Class is Mercedes' hatchback and one of the easiest cars in the range to style well on a budget, especially once you add a front grille into the mix alongside the usual splitter and spoiler. Here's the full breakdown across both current generations.
Front Splitters
W176 (2012-2018) has splitters for the A35/A45 AMG Line trim in Gloss Black, plus a separate facelift-only part for 2016-2018 non-AMG Line cars. W177/V177 (2018-2024) carries the newest range: a B-style splitter in Gloss Black or Carbon Fibre for A35/A45 cars, a standard Gloss Black version, and a dedicated AMG splitter for 2023-2024 facelift cars. Check your year and trim carefully, the W177 range alone has three different splitter fitments.
Rear Spoilers
Roof spoilers are available for both W176 and W177/V177 in Gloss Black or Carbon Fibre, plus an A45-specific roof spoiler for each generation if you want the sharper AMG profile. Saloon versions (V177) also get their own dedicated boot spoiler, standard or AMG-spec, separate from the hatchback roof spoiler.
Front Grilles
This is where the A-Class range stands out. W176 gets a diamond-pattern grille for both pre-facelift and facelift years, or a full Panamericana GT/GTR-style grille for either year range if you want the more aggressive AMG look. W177 carries a Panamericana grille for the current shape. All grilles are Gloss Black and are a straightforward swap for the factory grille.
W176 vs W177 — What Changes
W176 (2012-2018) is the outgoing hatchback shape and has the widest grille choice, diamond or Panamericana, across both pre-facelift and facelift years. W177/V177 (2018-2024) is the current shape and introduced the saloon body style (V177), which needs its own spoiler separate from the hatchback. Splitter fitment tightens up considerably on W177, so double check whether your car is standard, AMG Line, A35/A45, or the 2023+ facelift before ordering.
